This joint event will bring together students from both institutions and elsewhere for an evening of thoughtful discussion, political insight, and rigorous debate. As a former Cabinet Minister and longstanding Member of Parliament, Sir Jacob will reflect on his time in government, the evolving direction of the Conservative Party, and the future of British politics more broadly.
The conversation will explore themes including economic policy, constitutional reform, the legacy of Brexit, free speech on campus, and the challenges facing conservatism in a rapidly changing political landscape. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a live Q&A session, engaging directly with one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary British politics.
By partnering across universities, LSE and KCL Conservatives aim to foster serious political engagement and create a space for open, robust, and intellectually confident discussion.
