Both for Italians and non-Italians, the Italian Society aims to promote Italian culture on campus and raising awareness of political, cultural and economic issues concerning Italy and Europe.
We are an inclusive group of both Italians and non-Italians, promoting Italian culture on campus and raising awareness of issues concerning Italy and Europe. The society offers guest speakers and events, Italian language classes and cultural festivities throughout the year to celebrate Italian heritage. Our lectures touch on numerous aspects and issues facing Italy today. We have welcomed Giorgio Napolitano and five Prime Ministers: Giuliano Amato, Massimo D’Alema, Romano Prodi, Enrico Letta and Paolo Gentiloni. We offer free Italian classes for beginners and organise numerous social events including Italian ‘aperitivi', Pizza Parties, and joint parties with the Italian Societies of other Universities.
