Fáilte! We’re a group for all things Irish, obviously, but are frequently joined by the part-Irish and those who wish they were Irish! In recent years our membership has been incredibly diverse with committee members themselves coming from all over the globe. So, if you’ve been to Ireland and had a great time, or always wanted to go, you should consider joining Irish Society for the best craic around. To no surprise our primary activities are of a social nature – pub crawls, rugby matches, St. Patrick’s Day and more.
Even though we’re so close to home, there aren’t nearly as many Irish people studying in London as you might think. Last year we managed to connect with all the other Irish Societies of London to embark on several London-wide events. We’re going to continue building those connections to create bigger and better events for Irish students (and everyone else that wants to tag along).
Alongside our social events, we also run career and panel discussions focused on issues which affect Ireland and Northern Ireland, of which we are looking to expand in the 2020/21 academic year. We only ask for a very affordable £2. You really can’t go wrong with £2 which will get you included into a very fun and active group of people. Plus, with our drinks vouchers on Paddy’s Day you’ll make your money back in no time.
