ABOUT US:
According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, a huge promoter of this concept, “a circular economy is a systemic approach to economic development designed to benefit businesses, society, and the environment. In contrast to the 'take-make-waste' linear model, a circular economy is regenerative by design and aims to gradually decouple growth from the consumption of finite resources.”
We, the Circular Economy Society at LSE, believe that in order to make the world more sustainable, a transition to a circular economic model is necessary.
Therefore, the Circular Economy Society is a group for students who are interested in the circular economy and would like to learn more about it both through theoretical inputs and hands-on activities.
OUR THREE MAIN GOALS ARE:
To raise awareness of the circular economy by educating the society’s members about it, as well as to promote the concept of a circular economy at LSE and beyond
To build a network between circular economy professionals and LSE students
Collaboration with other universities, institutions, and the private sector
MEMBERSHIP:
The society is open to everyone, no pre-knowledge about the circular economy is required. Our annual membership is £1.50 and gives you access to all of our events throughout the year.
