Roderich Kiesewetter is a Member of the German Bundestag and former Bundeswehr Colonel who brings extensive military and security expertise to German foreign policy: He served in key NATO positions including as Executive Officer to the Chief of Staff at NATO Headquarters, and held command positions in the Bundeswehr with deployments to the Balkans and Afghanistan. Since his election to the Bundestag in 2009, he has served as the CDU/CSU parliamentary group's spokesman on foreign affairs and was Chairman of the Parliamentary Control Committee overseeing Germany's intelligence services (2020-2022). He currently leads the advisory council of the Federal Academy for Security Policy.
Arndt Freytag von Loringhoven is a senior diplomat and former intelligence chief who has operated at the highest levels of European security and foreign policy: He served as NATO's first Assistant Secretary General for Intelligence and Security (2016-2019) and as Vice President of Germany's Federal Intelligence Service (2007-2010). Since joining the German Foreign Ministry in 1986, he has held posts at the German Embassies in Paris and Moscow, and served as German Ambassador to Poland and the Czech Republic. Through this work, he has witnessed firsthand the transformation of Europe's security landscape over the past decades.
