Kevin Lick is a prominent Russian opposition activist who was imprisoned for treason in 2023 and released in 2024 during the prisoner swap facilitated in 2024 by the Biden Administration. Currently, Kevin is deeply involved in pro-democracy activism and is widely regarded as one of the most prominent figures within the Russian pro-democracy opposition nowadays.
Professor Kevin Featherstone, Emeritus Professor at the LSE European Institute, will chair this event. In conversation with Professor Featherstone, Kevin will discuss his experiences of surviving Russian captivity, his life in Russia prior to imprisonment, as well as his current activism, his vision for Russia’s future, and the contemporary political, social, and economic challenges facing Russia today. This event is a unique opportunity to hear from someone who, despite numerous challenges faced at such a young age, continues to stand up bravely for a free and democratic Russia.
If you have any questions or concerns about this event or about the European Society in general, please email european@lsesu.org and include “Event with Kevin Lick” in the subject line.
