London School of Economics Houghton St, London WC2A 2AE - Sumeet Valrani Lecture Theatre (CBG 1.01), London
Join us for Urban Plus' first public lecture of the year with none other than Bob Allies, founding partner of Allies and Morrison!
Over the last twenty years, Allies and Morrison have been responsible for, or contributed to, the masterplanning of many of London’s major urban regeneration projects, including Kings Cross, Royal Arsenal Woolwich, Brent Cross Town, Canada Water, Wood Wharf, Elephant and Castle and the Olympic Games and Legacy. With reference to these, and to two projects in the Middle East, Bob Allies will consider the nature of urban enclosure and the role it plays in the creation of successful public spaces, highlighting the respective responsibilities in this regard of both the urbanist and the architect.
The talk will be followed by a Q&A session and finish with networking between fellow students, practitioners, and academics. Chaired by Professor Ricky Burdett, director of LSE Cities, don't miss this exciting opportunity to engage with leading experts in the architecture and urbanism sectors!
This lecture is open to all however places are limited; please purchase a ticket to attend.
