New Groups Training (Societies)

Congratulations on being approved as a new LSESU Society! 

To help you feel prepared and confident starting your new role, we'd like to invite you to our bespoke new group training sessions. 

There will be two in-person sessions (with free pizza!) and two online sessions, outlining the essential knowledge that new committee members need to have. You only need to attend one session, as they will be repeats of each other. 

• Wednesday 28th October, 11:30am - 1:30pm - IN PERSON 
• Wednesday 28th October, 2:30pm - 4:30pm - IN PERSON 
• Monday 2nd November, 2:30pm - 4pm - ONLINE
• Thursday 5th November, 12pm - 1:30pm - ONLINE

The in-person sessions will take place in the Hall Carpenter Room on Level 3 of the Students Union. For online sessions, you'll recieve an email with the link 1 hour before the session starts.

The sessions will provide an essential introduction to your committee roles, equipping you with the necessary knowledge to get the best start in your new position. We'll cover: 

• An introduction to running an LSESU Society 
• Planning Events 
• Managing Finances 
• Promoting your Group 
• Applying for Funding 
• Support available to you as Student Leaders  

...and there'll be lots of opportunities to chat to SU staff, who will be able to answer any questions you may have. 

Plus, there will also be FREE PIZZA at the in person sessions, and time for you to mingle with other new group founders. (If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know before Monday 26th October so we can adapt our order accordingly!)
