LSE Forum has been an annual flagship event of the LSESU HKPASS for the 18th year. Since then, it has been the largest inter-university Cantonese debate competition amongst UK universities. Every year, students from all across the UK are invited to defend their positions on the most pertinent and controversial issues pertaining to socio-economics and politics through rounds of friendly yet heated debates. We hope this highly-anticipated event will allow students to showcase their argumentative talents, as well as to meet and socialise with students from different universities.
The competition will adopt a round-robin style during the Preliminary Rounds. Inspired by the World Cup format, all debating teams will be evenly divided into four groups. Every team will compete against one another in their corresponding groups. The winner of each group will subsequently advance into the Semi-finals, which will adopt a simple elimination format whereby the winning teams reach the Grand Final whilst the remaining two teams enter theConsolation Final.
