We are pleased to invite you to the launch of Bridging the Gap: Infrastructure Careers from a Social Science Perspective - a report produced by students from the London School of Economics Consultancy Society under the guidance of Infrastructure Matters on March 27th at 5.30pm.
The report draws on an analysis of the current infrastructure landscape, including industry challenges, investment needs, and knowledge-sharing gaps, alongside a student survey to examine how students perceive infrastructure and careers in the sector. It considers why social science students appear to be largely absent from the industry, and what this means for the sector's ability to tackle increasingly complex challenges.
It concludes with key recommendations for academia, industry, and government on how to engage students from outside traditional infrastructure backgrounds.
The event will bring together LSE students, consultants, and infrastructure professionals for a panel discussion with the student analysts, an ‘In conversation with’ session to discuss the reports recommendations between Professor Tony Travers CBE and Julia Pyke, Clean Power Commissioner and former managing director of Sizewell C, and will be followed by networking and refreshments.
